Blackjack tournaments are a way for players to change up the traditional game of blackjack where the players play against the dealer within the game, as the tournaments allow the players in the game to compete against each other, rather than the dealer. The same rules of the game apply, where the player tries to reach a hand of blackjack, or twenty one or as close to the hand as possible. Through these rules of the game, the players are still able to maintain the initial two card hand and have the ability to hit, or stay throughout the entire hand.

While playing in the blackjack tournament, the same rules of the game apply where the face cards all have a value of ten and the ace within the game has two values, either a value of one or a value of eleven. Through the same rules of the game, as well as the hands, the players are able to have a certain amount of time to play the hands in the game, as well as a certain amount of hands (which are equal to all players within the game) before the scores are calculated. Through the game, the players are able to adjust their bets to increase the potential of winning and therefore through the bets being adjusted, the player is able to potentially increase the amount that can be won while playing the hands of blackjack. At the end of the amount of hands which are being played, the player with the most amounts of chips that is taking part in the blackjack tournament is the winner of the tournament and often wins the prize that is associated with winning the tournament.
